Last year Florida State University offered a four week course designed to help instructors, trainers, and instructional designers learn how to better use social media to support learning, whether in an informal networking sense or by embedding social media into more formal learning contexts.
More recently, this course was offered as a Massively Open Online Course with a condensed format. During the span of four weeks four modules were discussed; Curation Tools, Social Media Lessons, Personal Learning Networks, and Privacy & Ethics. Each module was accompanied by numerous videos, readings, outside resources, and a list of tools.
Overall, this four week course was informative and provided a wide array of free online resources. Additionally, many of the resources were also accompanied by tutorials for those that need a little extra support when it comes to utilizing new technology tools.
