Teaching with AI: Seizing Opportunities and Navigating Challenges is an asynchronous self-paced course designed to equip faculty with essential knowledge and practical tools for integrating generative AI into educational settings. The course is facilitated on Blackboard Learn Ultra and comprises five modules. Depending on your level of familiarity with AI systems, each module should take about 1-3 hours to complete.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Teaching with AI certificate. The first few participants who successfully complete the course will also receive a copy of Co-Intelligence: Living and Working with AI by Ethan Mollick.

    By the end of this course, it is our hope that you will be able to:

    • Explain AI's fundamental principles and real-world applications within higher education.
    • Assess the ethical implications of AI adoption in education and develop strategies for promoting responsible AI usage that prioritizes student well-being and equity.
    • Craft a personal statement on AI articulating your approach and intentions for actively integrating AI tools and resources into your teaching practices within the classroom.
    • Reflect on your current teaching practices and explore ways to leverage the capabilities of AI in your pedagogy.
    • Examine the impact of AI in education from the student's viewpoint, considering their needs, expectations, and concerns.
    • Engage with student perspectives to inform the development of course elements aiming to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of AI-integrated learning experiences.
