The Faculty Showcase is the University of Miami's premiere teaching and learning event! Join us for the annual gathering where faculty share, network, and discover the ways in which their colleagues are enriching student experiences through innovative pedagogies and learning technologies. Led by faculty for faculty, this mini-conference aims to support faculty development and impact student learning.

🚗  Parking and Transport: Parking is available for UM faculty and staff who have a valid parking pass for the Gables campus. Metered parking is available in Pavia Parking Garage (view campus map).

💻  Technologies and More: Some sessions may require the use of a personal device or prepare for a hands-on workshop. 

🍽  Food: Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments are provided throughout the day.

Event Format

💬 Learning Circles: Learning Circles are designed for small group discussion of specialized topics, with the presenter leading the discussion. Several roundtable discussions will happen concurrently in a large open room, where presenters will lead three 30-minute sessions, so participants can visit up to three tables during the 90 minutes.

💡 Breakout Sessions: Breakout Sessions are 45-minute sessions designed to allow presenters and facilitators to share information regarding successful educational practices, innovative uses of educational technology, or noteworthy programs and initiatives.

👥 Un-session: An Un-session is a 45-minute loosely structured session where faculty will create an agenda collaboratively. The central focus is on active dialogue, collaboration and/or creativity that invites participants to surface and share individual and collective expertise.
